I never had the pleasure of meeting Albert Roux. He along with his brother Michel did much to change the course of British gastronomy. Together they ran Le Gavroche. They turned it into the first UK restaurant to get a Michelin Star. They topped that by going on and becoming the first UK restaurant to be awarded a second and third Michelin star.
Building on their success they opened The Waterside Inn just outside of London in Bray. An establishment that still holds three stars. Albert Survived his brother Michel who passed away in March.
Their passings have left a long shadow upon the British food scene. The influence of the Roux Brothers will be continued to be felt for the foreseeable future.
